How therapy
with Carmel works

Beginning therapy can feel daunting. Carmel takes a gentle, collaborative approach — you'll never be pushed to move faster than you're ready to.

Initial consultation

Your first session is an opportunity to talk about what's brought you to therapy, what you're hoping to get out of it, and any questions you have. There's no pressure to share more than you're comfortable with.

Understanding your situation

Carmel takes time to understand your history, current circumstances, and goals. Together, you'll develop a shared sense of what you're working toward and how to get there.

Evidence-based treatment

Drawing on approaches including EMDR, trauma-informed CBT, DBT, schema, ACT and narrative therapy, Carmel tailors her approach to what will be most effective for you.

Ongoing review

Progress is regularly reviewed together. Therapy is a collaboration — your feedback shapes how sessions are conducted, and you're free to raise anything at any time.

EMDR therapy may be recommended
