Work With Me

I have success working with:

Tips for Finding the Right Therapist for You

First Responders

eg. NSW Police Force, NSW Ambulance, Fire & Rescue NSW

I am particularly well-suited to working with individuals who are seeking psychological support for workplace injuries - my early career experience in organisational psychology places me in a unique position to confidently help injured workers navigate the insurance system and return-to-work process, in the context of their psychological injury.

I have a SIRA provider number and years of experience working with clients seeking support under the banner of insurance companies.

Individuals who have experienced trauma or are feeling 'stuck'

Whilst many of us can identify with what might be called 'obvious' trauma, eg. a motor vehicle accident, assault, being bitten by a dog, there is a less obvious trauma, one in which our childhood developmental needs have not been fully met. This can be referred to as Attachment Trauma.

What is most important is identifying and treating signs and symptoms that are creating difficulties for you NOW. You may find yourself 'stuck' or in a cycle of repeating patterns that don't serve you well or you might find yourself experiencing:

  • Performance anxiety
  • Nightmares
  • Flashbacks
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Phobias
  • Panic attacks
  • Grief
  • Addictions
  • Sleeplessness

If you've experienced or currently experience any of the above then we'd probably work well together using EMDR.

Individuals dealing with relationship breakdowns/family changes

Relationship and/or family breakups can not only be difficult but traumatic for all parties involved. With the right guidance on how to navigate this process the pain and suffering can be minimised, especially for children. In this context I work with individuals/parents.

Living/working/relocating to new work/living areas or overseas

As someone who has lived and worked overseas I understand the challenges this can bring and am well-placed to support you during this transition. I also recognise the difficulty that can be associated with sourcing good professional supports in either a new environment or in general and as such welcome the value telehealth can bring to the provision of psychological services. I have provided telehealth psychology services before COVID entered our world and am confident working with clients in this context.

EMDR supervisees

Having attained my Accredited Consultant credentials with EMDRAA I am excited to provide case consultation to therapists training in EMDR. I have completed all of my training and continue to receive individual supervision with a previous EMDRAA President who originally trained with Dr Francine Shapiro. With this support and my own professional history it's rewarding to share this knowledge and experience with new and developing EMDR therapists.
